IMPACT SOCKETS
A Comprehensive Impact Socket Product Line
In March 2025, we expanded our impact socket lineup to include 3/4 inch drive 6-point sockets. This addition not only adds a new drive size to our lineup, but also expands our size range to cover 5/32 to 2-1/2 inch and 4 to 50 mm. With a full range of drive sizes from 1/4 inch to 3/4 inch, our impact socket lineup can support professional tool users from small engine repair to heavy diesel.
A No-Skipped-Sizes Philosophy
We strive to offer an unsurpassed range for proper use across our product lines. This means offering a broad size range in each drive size and avoiding skipping sizes, even rare ones that are at the outer limits of proper use. We determine industry needs and pursue tool development that fits specific applications. For example, the 1/2 inch drive deep 12-point 39 mm socket was created specifically for use on several Toyota car models that have a 12-point axle nut. Because 12-point sockets are used with rare 12-point fasteners, we’ve added only socket sizes for known standard bolt sizes, because there is an extra cost and weight to carry unnecessary sizes.
Additionally, we view each drive size as its own family. Other brands may count on adapters or reducers to cover the necessary size ranges. We know there can be a substantial penalty in torque loss when stacking components together. Our goal is to create a socket system that aligns with a single drive tool in its entirety.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the 3/4 inch drive the only impact socket that also uses a retaining pin and ring?
Given the increased size, weight, and power of 3/4 inch drive tools, using retaining pins and rings can provide a more secure connection.
Are impact sockets available individually and in sets?
All of our impact sockets are available individually and in sets. Sets are available in cases, on rails, or without organization (depending on the set).
