QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER

Department: Tool Development

Direct Supervisor: Director of Tool Development

Tekton needs an impressive Quality Control Manager to successfully lead our Quality Control team and continuously improve our methods and capabilities in this area. You will need to be a strong leader who can expand and advance our approach to quality control, promote a rigorous culture, exercise good judgment in complex situations, and motivate a team as well as coordinate their efforts.

Some specific role responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of the Quality Control team and its collaboration with our Fulfillment and Manufacturing teams
  • Advance the philosophy, methods, and statistical strategies of our approach to quality control
  • Co-develop with our Operations IT team the information systems that support the Quality Control team's work and integrate with inventory and accounting functions
  • Create and maintain our Quality Standards and Expectations (QSE) for each product
  • Establish and enforce QSEs in our in-house manufacturing operations and through direct communication with outside suppliers
  • Design and implement rigorous and efficient inspection, measuring, testing, and evaluation methods

Education, experience, and skills

You do not need a specific degree or job history, but a background in engineering, chemistry, statistics, computer science or related fields could be helpful. Exceptional technology skills, strong ability in math particularly statistical principles, and a skeptical, scientific mindset are critical. A very high capacity for learning, a commitment to excellence, and high energy and focus are essential to success.

Location and hours

This is a full-time salaried position located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
